Description

This is the very latest UNO "R3" version of the Arduino USB board; now with an improved reset circuit and extended pin-out.

The UNO R3 is 100% software and hardware compatible with older versions of the UNO and Duemilanove boards so all of your shields and accessories will work without modification.

UNO is not just easier to say, the hardware now uses a customised USB controller which can be re-programmed (by advanced users) to allow the UNO to act as virtually any USB device such as a keyboard, mouse or joystick. The new USB controller is also faster – speeding up the transfer rate during programming and in application and now works with LINUX & MAC computers without a driver!

Arduino connects to the computer with a standard USB cable and contains everything else you need to program and use the board. It can be easily extended by simply plugging on a variety of shields (custom daughter-boards) with specific features such as our Robot Shield Kit making it an ideal controller for robotics applications.

Overview

Like the Duemilanove, the UNO is based on the ATmega328 (datasheet). It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button.

The board contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started.
